GoBright Hygienic Mode Update
In September, GoBright updated their hygienic mode feature. This was first introduced during the pandemic, and if enabled, it required a desk to be cleaned after every use. The Connect & Glow would turn purple until a card was swiped or if the desk was updated in the portal. However, it is now possible to highlight the desk as required to be cleaned at the end of every day instead of after every check-in. This is configured in the profile attached to the desk.Head to Settings > Work > Profiles and select the profile linked to the desk(s) you wish to enable this for.You can configure your profile from here, depending on your preferences. Here is an example of setting the desk as required to be cleaned at 5pm every day:Please note: If this feature is enabled, the Connect will not turn off outside of office hours until it has been marked as clean. This feature is also supported for the Interact.

New Feature - Book a meeting room on behalf of a colleague
In GoBright, you can already book a desk / parking space on behalf of a colleague. However, since July 2025, you can now do the same for rooms within the GoBright portal. This was previously only available via Outlook. There is now an all-in-one solution within the GoBright portal.✔ Fully integrated within the portal✔ Free✔ Don't need to leave Teams or switch between apps (if you have the add-on)The StepsOn the main dashboard (Meet-Work-Visit), head to Settings > Users > Roles.Scroll down until you see Other booking-related permissions.By default, this setting is disabled, so enable it:Make sure you save the changes at the top of the page. If you have multiple roles, carry out the above for the relevant role(s).Using the 4 squares in the top right, head to the Admin Centre. The user(s) account(s) will need to have the above role enabled for their account. Select the user.Scoll down to Meet-Work-Visit and then Roles. On the drop-down, ensure the role(s) you updated above are selected for the relevant user(s). Now that the role(s) has been updated, we can book the room on behalf of a colleague. The example below shows that I booked a meeting room for my colleague Alex. This is then put in Alex's calendar with the above information.

Hardware For Map Routing - On Site Installation Instructions
Please select each section below for a step-by-step guide to get
up and running. Please work your way through this list. If you encounter any hardware issues, please read
step 5 carefully.
1. Background
In Q4 of 2025, GoBright
launched a new routing feature for their mapping solution. This is for live directions to resources (rooms, desks
& parking) on map viewers.
2. Testing
The tech team at Ascentae have worked
alongside the GoBright team and tested this extensively, and we're impressed with the functionality. This is a
great addition to the GoBright platform.
3. Commissioning
If you have purchased a commissioning
package with us, we'll configure the portal remotely. However, there are some steps that on-site engineers will
need to perform. These can only be carried out locally. Please see sections 4 & 5.
4. Important Info & Key Points
Only V2 of the Map Viewer supports
this functionality. If you're running V1, you'll need to switch.
The Map Viewer must support WebView (enabled in developer
mode).
We'll guide you through this in the next section
👍🏻
5. Enabling WebView and V2
Enabling WebView
This is a simple procedure and needs to be carried out in the
Android settings on the device. Let's walk you through the steps.
Close the GoBright application — instructions are here.
Scroll down to the Application section and keep tapping Current Version until
it says 'you're now a developer'.
On the same page, look for Developer Tools and select Browser. Change the
browser to WebView.
If it's stuck on loading, don't worry. Press settings and reboot the panel from the options menu.
Now that we've updated to WebView, let's flick the switch to the V2 of the map viewer...
Switching to V2
Log in to your GoBright portal here.
Head to Settings > Devices
> Profiles. Look for the Map Viewer profile — this is clear as it will show
as a Map Viewer Display in the Type column.
Select this profile
Scroll down to the Map Viewer section and
make sure the theme is set to Version 2.
If the device is stuck on loading again after saving the
changes, please reboot the unit.
6. A Working Example
Below is a quick example of finding a route to a room, desk and
a parking space that could be displayed on the Map Viewer on site:
7. Mobile App
As of the 19th of January 2026, GoBright added their map routing solution on both Apple and Android devices that
have their app installed.
The GoBright app is available for free on both platforms. Just check out the relevant store for your device.
GoBright have produced a demo on their website which you can find here.
