Adding Ascentae Support to Your GoBright Portal

This will walk you through the steps to allow Ascentae Support access to your GoBright portal. This is used by Ascentae to commission your project, or for ad-hoc assistance with a support ticket regarding an existing portal. Please click on each section below to go through the steps.  1. Important Information If Ascentae is commissioning your portal, permissions must be provided by an administrator from the end-users side in order for us to access your portal. You'll provide us with a temporary login.  Full admin rights must be permitted. We'll cover this later.  It is your responsibility to grant AND revoke Ascentae access to your portal.  2. Your GoBright login Information Whoever signed the licensing agreement with GoBright will have received an email from sales@gobright.com with the initial admin login details. This includes: Email address Password Organisation code Ascentae doesn't see your login information, so it's important you follow the next steps. We will never ask for the original login information for your portal! Let's get going... 3. Granting Ascentae Access   Log into your GoBright portal here and navigate to the Admin Centre. See step 2 for your credentials. After you have logged into your GoBright account, head to the Admin Centre: On the top navigation, head to the users section. Proceed to add a new user. Please use the following information: Name: Ascentae Support Integration: None (do not integrate our account) Email address: support@ascentae.com Password: Manually enter a password or use the ‘Generate password' option and make a note of it Phone number, NFC and Default cost centre should be ignored All roles should be selected under the Meet-Work-Visit and View section We recommend using the generate password field, to create a random strong password. After you've done this, copy it to the clipboard: The final step on this page is the permissions (important), which is at the very bottom of the page. Please ensure step F above has been carried out. Scroll back up to the top of the page after confirming all of the above is correct and hit save. Looks like we're good to go. Let's move on to the next step. 4. Finding Your Org Code To find your organisation code, head to Settings > General. This is the 2nd section on this page. 5. GoBright Advanced Gateway (AGW) Setup

The previous gateway models are the MGW211-DP24 and MGW211-DP28. This article is based on testing the AGW332-EU868 with firmware 1.0.0. We conducted these tests in August / September 2026.The GoBright Advanced Gateway is basically a solid piece of kit that hooks your devices upto the cloud. It makes sure all the data syncs perfectly and keeps your smart workplace online without any hiccups.Planning Your InstallationWhen figuring out where to put your gateway, keep an eye out for things that can block the signal—like thick concrete walls, metal objects, elevators, and stairs. If you hit any dead zones, just add a few extra Advanced Gateways to make sure the whole building gets solid coverage. Please see the planning and deployment guide here.The image to the left shows how the gateway looks once setup.The Small AntennaThis is used for Wi-Fi communication and both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz are now supported.The Large AntennaThis is used for any communication if LoRa sensors are being deployed.We've provided a step-by-step guide below to get you up and running. ⚠️You must be a administrator on the GoBright portal to ensure you can complete the following steps. The GoBright mobile app is required (Android or iOS) and it needs to be running the latest version.Power OptionsThe first step is to make sure that the toggle switch on the top of the gateway is toggled off of 'boot'.The gateway supports PoE+ at 30W. This is done through the ETH0 port. A 230v power supply is not included as standard and must be purchased seperately. Please speak to your Ascentae account manager when orderingOnce you've sorted power to the device, allow around 10 minutes for it to fully boot. During the boot process the LEDs will flash different patterns. At this stage, grab a brew and allow the device to boot and wait for the LEDs to slowly start blinking blue. This is a good sign as we're now in discovery mode, and the device is ready to commission. So, let's get cracking...Important Note: Discovery mode only remains active for up to 10 minutes after boot. Please reboot again if needed.Just a heads up...Configure The PresetIn your GoBright portal, head to Settings > Devices > Profiles and add a new profile name. Change the 'type' to 'Advanced gateway'. Hit save.Stay in the GoBright portal, and head to Settings > Devices > Commissioning Presets and then 'Add'. Change the Type to 'Advanced Gateway'. Give it a name, select the profile you've just set up, and enable the relevant connection settings. Save this page. This will then appear in the list under Settings > Devices > Profiles:As you can see, for testing purposes, we've called this 'Lee - Advanced Gateway'. At this stage, we recommend giving the device a suitable name - especially if deploying multiple devices across multiple floors.Now head to Settings > Devices > Commissioning Presets to locate your preset you just configured:Select the commissioning preset and ensure the connection details are correct. Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks are supported. Switch To The GoBright App⚠️Ensure that bluetooth is enabled on the device that you're using to commission the gatewayNow we need to switch to the GoBright app as the device has booted. Navigate to Settings → Admin Tools → GoBright Advanced Gateways (beta) → GoBright Advanced Gateways. Scan the QR code on the back of the gateway. Select the following option:On the next step, select the pre-configured commissioning profile that you setup. Give the gateway a name and complete all the required information. Once ready, press 'Commission Device'.Next, you will see the following screen:Select 'Done' and you can see the device under the 'GoBright Advanced Gateways' option on the app. Once commissioned, there should be 2 green solid lights on the gateway.On the web portal, head to Settings > Devices > Gateways to see your device. Here you can:See the firmware it's running and update it if requiredSerial numberConnection statusLocal IP addressSummaryNow you have an active Advanced Gateway configured and setup in your portal.The LED indicators should look like this once successfully activated and enabled in your GoBright portal.If you have any questions, please log a support ticket. GoBright View - Web Player

Dictate the summary of this article: Your browser does not support the audio element. Digital signage can now be displayed using a web browser. The Web Player is on a view-only basis, so you can't make config changes on the screen itself. To use the web player you need to open the url link within the same server tenant. For example, on your Dashboard:However, when you switch to View:It will switch to:As you can see, it has switched from UK1B to UK1S, but you never leave your GoBright portal. In this instance, if you was to use UK1B the browser will alway show an activation code (valid for 12 months). However, when switching to UK1S the digital signage kicks in - as long as you have added the device on the GoBright portal.Please check the correct link on your GoBright portal as GoBright has several servers across different countries. In this instance, Ascentae is on UK1B, so it's UK1S. Elsys LoRA Desk Sensor (EMS2)

The EMS2 desk sensor is a wireless LoRaWAN® sensor for indoor environments that measures desk occupancy. It can also measure temperature and humidity. The compact design makes it ideal for mounting under desks. As you're deploying these in your smart office in combination with the GoBright solution, please ensure you have the GoBright Advacned Gateway (AGW) installed. This article covers the AGW.Important: Batteries are not included. This product requires 1 x AA 3.6V lithium batteries. Standard 1.5V batteries are not supported and will not power the device.When using the recommended batteries, you can expect a battery life of up to 5 years, depending on usage.Checklist1. A smartphone with the GoBright app installed. This is available for free from both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store2. Full admin access rights for your GoBright account.  3. The GoBright advanced gateway (AGW) that has been configured and commissioned. We've put together a full guide of how to get up and running in this article.4. Bluetooth and NFC enabled on the smartphone.Installation RecommendationsEnsure the sensor has a clear line of sight to the member of staff sat at the desk.Place the sensor far enough back under the desk to avoid accidental damage. For optimal occupancy the sensor should be placed between 10 and 20cm from the edge of the desk. However, the sensor can detect occupancy of up to 50cm with a 60° field of view.Do not place the sensor near heat / cooling equipment such as under-desk heaters.Commissiong Steps1. Carefully remove the cover from the device and power it up with the AA 3.6V battery. The LED on the device will quickly flash red and green at the same time. The LED does not constantly stay on, but flashes every 30 seconds after that.2. Open the GoBright app on your phone and select the 3 grid lines in the corner and then Admin tools.3. Select LoRa Sensors and then Commission a Sensor. 4. The sensor vendor you need is Elsys.You will now see the following:5. Hold your phone to the rear of the sensor to retrieve the information. You'll then see the following screen:6. Link the sensor to the appropriate desk, room or parking space. 7. On the next page select Commission Sensor. It will then ask you to confirm the link, so hold your phone to the rear of the sensor again.8. All done! You will automatically be directed to to the following page (same as step 3). However, on this page, select 'LoRa Sensors'  and you will see the sensor that you've just commissioned:This is also shown in your GoBright portal under Settings > Devices > Sensors. You can update what room / desk / parking space the sensor is linked to easily in the GoBright portal or the app. The PortalNow you clearly see in the GoBright portal that the desk is showing as occupied (amber).And...Need Support?We're here to help. GoBright - Maintenance Mode

GoBright have released a Maintenance Mode option for their portal. Please note: The Interact display will not update to show the device as in maintenance mode. This will be a future release, but there is currently no release date that we can provide. This information was last updated on Wednesday 17/06/2026. What is Maintenance Mode?Need to take a resource out of action? Now you can. Setting a resource to maintenance blocks new bookings instantly. It’ll even give a heads-up to anyone who already had it booked so they can find an alternative resource. Sys Admins can also decide exactly who has the permissions to set maintenance for each location.Switching Maintenance OnThis is not enabled by default - so in this article, we'll guide you how to get up and running.This is done on a per-role basis - so, for example, you can restrict your portal so that only admins can put a resource into maintenance mode. Head to Settings > Users > Roles and enable the following:If you have multiple roles, you'll need to update each role accordingly. Putting a Resource Into MaintenanceTo put a resource into maintenance mode, head to Bookings > Maintenance:And then select the green 'Add Maintenance' icon.Once you have selected the correct location, you can select multiple resources - these include rooms, desks and also parking. Once saved, this is logged in Bookings > Maintenance. It's also displayed on the portal and you cannot book the resource. In this example, we've used a desk.For example when you select the resource:And on the map on your dashboard:Cancel MaintenanceIf the maintenance was completed before the scheduled time and the resource can be booked again, you can manually cancel it. Head back to Bookings > Maintenance and hit the X:As you can see, previous maintenance is shown but greyed out so there is still a log. Completed MaintenanceIf the scheduled maintenance time passes, you do not need to take any action as GoBright automatically updates to show it's finished and the desk is now bookable again.Remember: This is done on a per-role role basis and it needs to be enabled under Settings > Users > Roles. Early Presence Confirmation

Information correct as of the 16th of September 2024In September, GoBright introduced a new feature called 'Early Presence Confirmation'.For example, if you make a booking on a Monday for the upcoming Friday, your portal can now be configured to prompt the user up to 48 hours before the booking is due to confirm that they still need to use that space. Key Points:This feature is currently only available for desks and parking​This is not currently available for rooms​Maximum notification is 48 hours​ before the booking is due to startBookings are automatically canceled if no action is taken​ from the email / push notificationThis is disabled by default and must be switched on. Speak to our tech team or your account manager if you would like us to set this up for youSignificantly increases efficiency of resources for your business The ProcessYou will get an email during the predefined time.For example: If you select 'Yes, I will attend', you will be directed to the GoBright portal: If you select 'No, delete it' you will still be directed to the GoBright portal: Example of a push notification from the GoBright app:If you take no action (ignore the email / push notification), the booking will be automatically canceled and the person who made the booking will receive an email.This means that space will be freed up for someone else to book. This is particularly useful for people who have reoccurring bookings but might be off sick / on annual leave etc. Share This
